Ghosts of transition

The show  at Dovecot reflects a number of residencies- 10 day intensives. There were lots of shapes and moods to engage with. I was particularly struck by the work of Alison Kinnaird This one is from a body of work Thresholds. Using light and glass doorways, she conveys the difficulties and fragile nature of transitions. The lighting is almost forensic as it seeks out every detail of the changes which may not even be known or recognised by the person in the doorway.Ghosts cling and are perhaps reshaped in time.
