I’ve been quiet in virtual spaces but busy enjoying different projects-including the lovely from Lincolnshire and Back. I’ve mentioned it before. Carol Parker invited artists to exchange unfinished projects and to add to it or finish it. The finished pieces then go on a bit of a tour. I took some of the pieces to Tullie Textiles – a group of people who meet once at month to make, chat and share old and new skills at Tullie House in Carlisle. The pieces prompted conversations.
Sending an unfinished piece involves trust..a certain amount of letting go. Receiving a piece will get you thinking about working in a different way – perhaps with materials you have never worked with before. It makes you think about using materials in a different way. Some thought of revisiting unfinished projects and the group is currently exploring the notion of doing a version of the project in bonnie Carlisle. I’ll keep you posted.
